My writer friend, Tobey Kaplan called me and said she was reading at a literary event being held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers. And did I want to go?
The Conservatory?
At night?
You couldn't keep me away.
We got there before the crowd and here is what I saw... big, bold, and botanical.

The literary event is called Quiet Lightning and the line up of writers was lively, entertaining and sometimes quite touching. It was great to hear Tobey read, the girl has got some chops. Quiet Lightning will be doing two more events at the Conservatory, one with a Labor Day litnic, and another in October as part of Lit Quake. Check it out.
