Elbow Grease Designs

Jenny Hurst of Elbow Grease Designs.
All products are made from recycled banners.

There is a great Saturday market happening in west Berkeley that you just have to check out. It's called The Beehive Market and it is a green lifestyle market Saturdays from 10am to 2pm in West Berkeley at 1701 San Pablo Ave (the parking lot at the Berkeley Adult School).

One of the vendors, Jenny Hurst of Elbow Grease Designs explained to me "you know those banners you see at conventions? Well I recycle them into tote bags, laundry bags, garbage containers, book bindings and purses..." Every item is its own unique piece and if you look around the Beehive market Jenny has brightened the public seating areas with her designs. I thought the seat covers were really cool, especially in groupings, but when I looked up and saw the umbrellas I said "Wow, I want that for my garden spot."

I thought the re-use of milk crates with Jennys covers was brillant. So colorful and durable. A good fix for people who chow down on the great food at the Beehive. I bought the item that sits on the table. I'm going to use it for all paper recycling in my office.
