New neighbors. They stripped the yard in the fall and for awhile I wondered what was up. There were a few young shrubs here and there but not much. Then over the winter the ground began to turn green with young sprouts and I caught on. They had seeded a meadow.

Their yard really stands out on the block. I've talked to several people about it and most people don't like it. They say it looks weedy. The ones that do like it are very enthusiastic.

I think it looks better from a distance. Unless you really know what you are looking at and get excited about all the wildflower varieties.

What a great way to enter your home. I'm envious.

I'm happy to be living next door. This garden is so interesting to me. Can't wait to see what it will look like as the wildflowers die down and the perennials and shrubs establish.

Wowie! I love this! It sure beats grass, but I can see why some people might not be attuned to this sort of thing in an up-close urban setting.
Is this in Oakland?
